"...Incredibly unpredictable. Sometimes gorgeous
(I shot black and white in a snowstorm, and the results
were shockingly good), very often blurry (to be expected,
but to a point), and often just plain dull (the last
three rolls I shot on it, in bright sunlight no less,
were simply crummy).
Camera is way too expensive for what it provides..."

Lomo
- any comments?
I'm
very curious about this small Russian Lomo camera.
Has anybody had any experience with it? What are
it's pros and cons?

I bought one last year. Stopped working almost immediately,
can't find parts or repairs. Other than that, it's
fine... ;)

I picked-up a pair of used Lomo LC-A in Riga(Latvia)
last year. I offered equivalent of $40 for two cameras
and got them.
I
am dissapointed with the quality of camera and lenses.
The ASA setting wheel of the first camera broke
during the first film, lens quality is below average
against modern fixed focus compacts (only lens contrast
I can rate as good), exposure is not accurate, wiefinder
is much wider than the lens.
My
olympus mju:II makes much better job than lomo;
however 20 USD is good price for the camera.

- "I
received my Kiev 35 last
week, and after running a test film through it I am
amazed at the excellence of the results. The sharpness
of the lens is of a very high quality - much better
than the Minox 35, in fact.
Best wishes, Alan
Fisk"
- "I have a Kiev 35A, and have been most impressed with the quality of
the photographs I have taken with it. I have shown it to friends that
have the Minox 35 and I believe they are jealous that mine is a
dead-ringer for their much more expensive Minox. The Kiev 35A is
quite rugged, and I have taken it with me on many field trips as a
pocket camera.
